Couples Photoshoot Turned Surprise Proposal

Mariah and I had planned a couples photoshoot to celebrate her and Jake’s love story.

On a beautiful summer evening, Mariah and Jake came over to my house so we could carpool. As Mariah went to get into the car, Jake closed the door behind her. He looked at me, lowered his voice and said, “Um I’m going to propose so can you make sure we’re in the water at some point? Thanks!” And then he ran out the door to the car.

I was stunned and I had to think on my feet quickly.

At the beginning of each photoshoot, I like to give my couples a quick overview of what I’m thinking - we’d start at the bridge, go down to the rocks and then get into the water last. They were on board.

Mariah and Jake danced on the bridge, played on the rocks and then it was time to get into the water. I looked towards Jake and said, “Ok, are you guys ready?” He got the hint.

They got in the water and I instructed both of them to stand back to back with each other. Mariah turned around and Jake got down on one knee.

“Oh nevermind, I don’t like this. Will y’all turn to face each other actually?”

And the rest is history 🫶🏼
